Welcome to the Heyfield Family History Group. Whether you are tracing your pioneer ancestors, investigating early timber industry records, or starting your family tree from scratch, our volunteer researchers and extensive historical archives are here to guide your journey.

Established by passionate local historians and genealogists, the Heyfield Family History Group is dedicated to collecting, preserving, and sharing the rich human history of Heyfield, the Macalister River region, and the surrounding Victorian bushland.

Our collection spans early pastoral settlement, the development of the timber mill industry, railway expansion, local school rolls, and community life across generations. We provide a welcoming, collaborative space for both beginner genealogists and seasoned researchers looking to break through research "brick walls."
