Whether you tend a multi-acre property, manage a backyard vegetable patch, or are just starting out with your very first potted herbs, our group provides an encouraging, friendly space to connect and learn.

Our mission is simple: to nurture a love for gardening across Wellington Shire, share practical advice tailored to our region’s climate and soils, and strengthen community ties through a shared passion for growing.

What We Do

• Monthly Meetings & Guest Speakers: We gather regularly to discuss seasonal garden care, soil health, propagation, and sustainable horticulture, featuring insightful presentations from local experts and guest speakers.
• Garden Visits & Tours: Enjoy private tours of members' gardens, local nurseries, and regional botanical highlights throughout Gippsland for fresh inspiration and practical ideas.
• Plant, Seed & Produce Swaps: Trade surplus cuttings, home-grown produce, native plants, and heritage seeds with fellow members.
• Workshops & Hands-On Demonstrations: Gain practical skills in pruning, composting, worm farming, organic pest management, and water-wise gardening techniques.
• Community Greening Projects: Collaborate on local planting initiatives, community garden beds, and beautification projects that keep Heyfield looking its best.
