Parks Week celebrates the crucial role that parks play in fostering livable cities and vibrant communities. This annual event brings together communities right across Australia and New Zealand to appreciate and engage with their local parks and open spaces.
Sale Botanic Gardens, Lake Guthridge and Lake Guyatt, from 8am - Free event
Parkrun is a free, fun and friendly weekly 5km community event. Walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate - it's up to you! Held every Saturday from 8am at Sale Botanic Gardens, Sale (see the course page for more details).
Please register before arrival, and bring a scannable or saved copy of your barcode on your device. If you forget it, you won't get a time. Register here.

Heyfield Apex Park, from 5.30pm to 9.30pm - Free event (Minecraft (PG)
Organised by the Lions Club of Heyfield, this free movie night will take place in Heyfield's Apex Park. Families are welcome to bring a picnic, rug or chairs to enjoy while there will be some bean bags for kids to sit on. Marshall Arts will provide free face painting before the movie begins. Lions Club of Heyfield will be put on a free sausage sizzle and there will be some free giveaways for everyone to enjoy. Maddison's Magical Pop N Floss will have popcorn and fairy floss.
Victoria Park, Sale, from 9am to 10am - Free event

Macalister Park, Maffra, from 10am to 12pm - Free event
A free interactive children’s show which includes singing, dancing and storytime. GranPam & PhilPop perform simplesongs that everyone can sing along to with simple dance steps and actions. The performance is aimed at children aged between 0 to 7yrs, however the whole family can join in with all the fun. Families are welcome to bring a picnic, blanket or chair to sit on. There will be free face painting by Marshall Arts Face Painting, some giveaways, Maddison's Magical Pop N Floss and the Mystery Ice Cream Van (to purchase).
Sale Pedestrian Mall, 8am to 12pm
Sale Lions Club hosts a weekly sausage sizzle every Saturday to support local schools, kindergartens, fire brigades, community groups, hospital auxiliary services, Royal Flying Doctor's Service and others in their fundraising efforts. The Saturdays during Parks Week will support the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
