Pickleball is a dynamic fusion of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, designed to be accessible and engaging for players of all ages and skill levels.

The game is played on a badminton-sized court featuring a modified tennis net that sits slightly lower to the ground. Players use solid paddles—typically made of wood or high-tech composite materials—to hit a perforated plastic ball, similar to a wiffle ball, back and forth.

Why It’s Taking Over the Sporting World

  • Easy to Learn: The smaller court and slower ball speed make it much easier for beginners to pick up than traditional tennis.
  • Highly Social: The proximity of players on the court fosters a friendly, conversational atmosphere, making it as much a social gathering as a workout.
  • Inclusive Fitness: Because it requires less sprinting than tennis, it provides an excellent cardiovascular workout that is gentler on the joints, making it a hit with both seniors and young athletes.
  • Global Momentum: It is currently one of the fastest-growing sports in the world, with new courts and communities appearing in parks and clubs globally.

Tuesday sessions at the Woodside Hall is a Juniors comp, with Seniors playing on Fridays.
