Dargo & Briagolong

Image 1

Start your day in Dargo with a visit to the store for a coffee and a light breakfast. Travelling south, you will meander through tree lined roads. Watch out for wildlife on the road! After heading through Briagolong, swing back north and check out the blue pools and have a quiet walk or even a swim at this hidden gem. Back down through Briagolong, we’re heading through rolling rural pastures, where some of the rich, Gippsland cheeses come from.

Maffra

The town of Maffra has plenty of great reasons to stop including the Gippsland Vehicle Collection, McAlister Park and a main street featuring a bakery with Australia’s best pastie – make sure you go and try it yourself! Just a little further along is Tinamba and the highly rated Tinamba Hotel – a great spot for lunch where you can sample a lot of the local produce – bookings recommended.

Heyfield

A little further along is the relaxed rural town of Heyfield. It’s well worth a walk around town, a stop off at Apex Park for the kids, and if you’re still hungry or thirsty there’s plenty of options.

Lake Glenmaggie

To finish our journey, we travel up to the Lake Glenmaggie bridge to watch the boats sail by and it makes for a rather nice sunset location and spot for a BBQ or picnic.
