Gumnut Cottage Gippsland is an unforgettable self-contained retreat in the outlying foothills of Central Gippsland. The second you step on the beautiful cantilever deck, you'll feel on top of the world - enjoying wide open skies, ever-changing colours & vocal bird life. Relax & unplug in front of the fire, after a busy day exploring all that the local area has to offer (affectionately referred to as the 'Middle of Everywhere'). Enjoy the comforts of this cosy Hamptons-style, eco cabin; featuring high pitched ceilings with exposed beams (built 2022).

Please note that Gumnut Cottage is a Tiny House at 26m2! The bedroom contains a super comfy king-sized bed - leaving only 40cm around the sides. Unfortunately this won't suit all travellers as it is a little challenging to manoeuvre around :) Waffle robes and luxurious Australian Made Goat Milk soap provided along with bottled water (still and sparkling) amongst other inclusions. The cabin is suitable for couples or solo guests only. Guests enjoy exclusive use of the cabin, along with the 30m2 deck and surrounding area. Situated on our broader 2.5 acre property, you are more than welcome to explore our emerging free-range food forest area as part of your stay and/or interact with our friendly babydoll sheep, pygmy goats & beautiful heritage hens! Our part time residence is at the other end of the property, ensuring plenty of privacy.

Located near the La Trobe Valley, in the very heart of Central Gippsland. We are midway between Sale and Traralgon, only minutes away from beautiful Lake Glenmaggie (great for fishing, boating, water skiing and jet skiing). Our local town, Heyfield, with a population of under 4,000, is 15 minutes away. A happy little town with all the supplies you should need for your stay; including an IGA supermarket, cafes, a great local pub (The Railway Hotel) & more... Continue 300m up the road from Gumnut Cottage to State forest - the gateway to the Victorian High Country. Enjoy great access to Walking Trails, 4WD & Dirt Bike tracks. Fine dining available at the beautiful Tinamba Hotel with wine tastings and great wood fired pizza lunches available at Blue Gables Vineyard. You will need your own transport as taxis and ubers don't generally service this area.
