Landmarks are called that for a reason. Sale's most prominent is The Clocktower, at the intersection of Raymond and Cunninghame Street.
As a visitor, lock it in as it can be a reference point to your new favourite shops and cafes - and as a general orientation. Pass by on a weekend and you'll often see local musicians busking here and testing out their new material for local shoppers to enjoy.
The Clocktower is impossible to miss, and reflects the architecture of early Sale even though it dates from just 1988. Its heritage though, is the first Clocktower built on the Post Office in 1884. Fittingly, this newer structure incorporates both the mechanism and the balustrades from the original bell tower.
