Segue Stratford and The Stratford Courthouse

Few ‘main drags’ in a town the size of Straford have as much cultural clout. Street art, a sculpture trail, and even a Shakespearean Theatre.

Probably the first thing to clear up is the most civilised thing you’d do anywhere - grab a coffee. The top thing about the Segue is it does serve top coffee, and there’s a delightful craft gallery exhibition space attached too. The name - pronounced Seg-way - is a term used to describe proceeding from one section to another - a connecting device. Segue is just that. A connecting place for the community and visitors alike, and a place where you can segue from the Cafe to the Theatre, or vice versa,

The Stratford Courthouse Theatre is of course home to productions throughout the period of the Shakespeare Festival, and the year. It also hosts the Stratford Film Society, Acting Classes for kids from 6-14, and is available for booking too. It is a building with an obvious history as a Courthouse, and since 1978 a varied history as a cultural space. The Stratford Historical Society used it for some years while Kline’s Eye to Eye Theatre produced over 1000 shows from 1993 to 2007. This 14 year period must have sewn seeds though, as in 2008 the Roberts family moved into Stratford with the dream of bringing the Courthouse back to life. We think they succeeded.
