One of the many beginnings to all that belongs to the Sale Botanical Gardens, this is your entrance to The Summer Walk, a lakeside amble through the Living Collection of those plants predominantly at their best in the warmer months. Way back when, this walk was known as the Bachelors Walk, one of a number of walks through the Gardens with evocative names like the Lovers Walk, the Musicians Walk, the Ladies Walk and the Pioneers Walk.

This new addition is designed by Andrew Laidlaw of the Royal Botanical Gardens. Andrew also designed the Garden for Life located on the southeastern edge of the Gardens (Montgomery Street entrance).

The plants displayed were selected because they are suitable for a changing climate – they do not require excessive water to thrive, an important consideration as we experience more of the impacts of climate change.
