Catalogue Collection (Botanic Gardens)

Harking back to the beginnings of the Sale Botanical Gardens, a time when public gardens, and the homes that followed their lead, leaned to highly ornamental species, chosen for their hardiness and resilience to the under-irrigated harshness of nineteenth-century Australia. The Catalogue Gardens also serve as a way to preserve the - for now - unfashionable varieties as this century is forecast to see the loss of up to 75% of the world's plant species.
