Seed Community Garden (Botanic Gardens)

Just on the southeastern edge of the Sale Botanical Gardens, this welcoming space of raised garden beds and practical greenery is the brainchild of local Mental Health Nurse, Shae Wilson.

Shae saw the need for a community-based garden to support vulnerable people in the community. After many years of planning and fundraising, the Garden was completed in early 2020, with the support of Sale Rotary and Council with major funding coming from the La Trobe Valley Authority and the local philanthropic organisation, the John Leslie Foundation.

Open to the public, members are encouraged to participate in organised activities or simply harvest some of the produce being grown. Regular plant sales to the public are held here.
