The Briagolong RSL Sub-Branch is a small but proud club located in Gippsland, home to a unique Log Cabin that serves as the venue for its meetings, held on the first Friday of each month at 7:30 pm.

The Log Cabin, officially opened on April 2, 1949, holds the distinction of being one of the first RSL Log Cabin clubrooms built in Australia. Constructed by the hard work and perseverance of local members, the cabin was built from logs cut from nearby trees, with construction beginning in 1948. The building became a symbol of community spirit and dedication.

The fame of the Briagolong Sub-Branch spread far beyond the local area in the early days, with a generous £100 donation from a prominent Melbourne philanthropist to help fund the cabin's construction. The cabin's distinctive features include a fireplace built with stone from the old Catholic church in Briagolong, as well as a remarkable entrance gateway—Gillio’s Gate—fashioned by nature itself from a fallen tree, which still stands as the main entrance today.

The Briagolong RSL Sub-Branch is particularly proud of the extensive memorabilia on display in the Log Cabin, honouring the history and sacrifices of Australian service members. Each year, the Sub-Branch hosts a significant ANZAC Day ceremony, which includes a two-up game and a popular sausage sizzle. This event draws both locals and visitors, some of whom travel great distances to participate in this heartfelt occasion, celebrating and remembering the brave men and women who served their country.
