Seaspray Transfer Station - Tip Rd, Seaspray VIC 3851, Australia

The Seaspray Transfer Station, managed by the Wellington Shire Council, provides a crucial waste disposal and resource recovery service for the coastal township of Seaspray and visitors to the Ninety Mile Beach coastline. Located on the Tip Road, this facility is designed to help local residents and holidaymakers manage waste responsibly, accepting domestic landfill refuse, recyclables, and green waste. To keep the facility running smoothly for residential use, a capacity limit restricts individual loads to a maximum of two cubic metres; any larger volumes must be directed to the shire's primary hub at the Kilmany Resource Recovery Centre. The station is fully equipped with modern payment infrastructure, accepting both cash and card/EFTPOS transactions.
The facility operates on a part-time schedule that balances the needs of the permanent community and weekend property owners. It is open on Mondays and Fridays from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Because of its location in a highly seasonal, fire-prone coastal environment, the station often supports local bushfire preparation efforts through council-backed residential green waste drop-off programs leading up to the high-risk summer months. In strict adherence to regional safety protocols, the Seaspray Transfer Station closes completely on major public holidays, including Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, and Good Friday. It also shuts down entirely on days declared as Catastrophic or Extreme Fire Danger, and will close immediately if a VicEmergency "Watch and Act" or "Emergency" warning is issued for the local area.
