  • Quiet Space: Quiet Space

The Rosedale Recreation Reserve serves as the central sporting and community hub for the historic town of Rosedale. Known locally as the home of the Rosedale "Blues," the reserve brings together regional athletes, families, and community members.

The reserve functions as a high-utilization sporting complex that accommodates hundreds of local club members across several disciplines. It is the primary home base for:

  • The Rosedale Football & Netball Club: Competing in regional leagues, utilizing the main ovals and hardcourts for junior and senior matches.
  • Cricket Facilities: Hosting local summer cricket competitions, including junior development frameworks like in2CRICKET.

Beyond traditional team sports, the broader reserve precinct integrates specialized sporting spaces, including the Rosedale Speedway, which attracts thousands of motorsport enthusiasts for regional racing events, alongside the Rosedale and District Pony and Adult Horse Riding clubs.

The grounds have undergone progressive redevelopments to maintain modern standards for both players and spectators. Key infrastructure includes:

  • The Community Pavilion: A modern pavilion equipped with comprehensive player and umpire change rooms, hot showers, a dedicated first-aid room, a timekeeper's box, public toilets, a redeveloped kiosk, and an expansive community room used for civic functions and local events.
  • Upgraded Oval Lighting: Supported by the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure program, the main oval features energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures. Operating at 100 LUX in alignment with AFL guidelines, this system ensures the ground is safely illuminated for twilight training sessions and night matches.
  • Hardcourt & Netball Precinct: The facility includes dedicated hardcourts to support netball training and tournament play. Wellington Shire Council initiated structural site investigations and schematic designs for a formal Hardcourt Renewal Project to revitalize and secure these surfaces for the future.

Community Access: The reserve operates as a multi-use asset. In addition to serving organized sports clubs, the grounds are closely linked with the nearby Rosedale Primary School and are open to the wider public for community functions, casual exercise, and regional events.
