It is part of an Aboriginal cultural landscape in the traditional Country of the Gunaikurnai Peoples and is known for its exceptionally diverse flora, with about one in five plant species known in Victoria present in the park.

The park is situated between Rosedale, Longford and Sale. It was opened in 1977.

Take one of the walking tracks for a chance encounter with a variety of interesting characters, such as the large and lounging Lace Monitor, Sacred Kingfisher and Emus. This scenic park contains an extremely high diversity of native flora and abundant wildlife, as well as providing for camping and other activities.
